Saint Louis, Missouri
Life, Love & Nature
by Lindsay Blum
Photography has always been my creative outlet. I feel fortunate to live in a state as diverse as Missouri - and am often outdoors photographing its natural beauty. Growing up in a cabin in the woods created within me a deep appreciation for nature and wildlife. I love shooting in outdoor natural light, so a session with me will typically be held outdoors during those beautiful, gilded hours of evening light.
Genuine emotion requires a bit of chemistry. I truly believe that creating incredible images relies heavily on making personal connections - knowing and trusting your photographer is an important ingredient to creating genuine photographs. I strive to create a fun and comfortable experience and love to get creative input from my clients for a personalized touch. It is my mission to provide a mix traditional, journalistic, candid and artistic photography styles to my clients. My business model strives to not only provide beautiful imagery, but also provide excellent service and above all - I want my clients to have fun!
Random Notes About Me : My daily vice is espresso or mocha lattes. I am a minimalist at heart - aesthetics are very important to me. I prefer odd numbers for symmetrical reasons. I love drusy quartz and rough-cut gemstones. I love to travel and see new places. I am an avid aquarist and love animals of all kinds. I enjoy learning about and photographing native Missouri plants and am a member of the Missouri Mycological Society, where I serve as the graphic designer for their quarterly newsletter. Continuing my education is important to me. During the off season, I spend a lot of time furthering my photography education & skills by attending seminars and hands-on courses. Thank you for visiting my site and for reviewing my work. I would love to help you tell your story.

FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
Q: What is your photography style?
A: I like to incorporate a blend of traditional and photo journalistic photography. I love creating traditional photographs with a mixture of detail, candid and artistic photography.
Q: Do you offer printing services and other products?
A: My packages include digital files, but I am happy to provide printing services. I currently offer digital images of your session through an online download gallery. I also offer various products. Please email me for pricing information.
Q: When is the best time of day to hold our outdoor session?
A: I prefer to shoot during the “Golden Hours”, the few hours after sunrise or even better - the few hours before sunset. If the weather is overcast, typically any time of day will be a good time for outdoor photography. The cloud cover will act as a natural diffuser, providing even light throughout a scene. Consult this website for sunrise/sunset times: http://www.timeanddate.com/sun/usa/st-louis
Q: Do you have a list of preferred vendors?
A: We certainly do! Because we offer print releases with my packages, we have several vendors we like to recommend. These businesses have a proven track record of producing a consistent quality that is important to us. While there are many retailers that offer cheap pricing on prints - you often get what you pay for. We encourage you to select a printing lab that has a great reputation for consistent colors, quality and professional-grade paper. Please inquire.
Q: Do you offer a copyright release on your images?
A: I do not extend a copyright release on my images. I do, however, extend limited printing rights for all of my digital collections.
Q: How long will it take to receive my finished images?
A: My post processing timeline depends on my current work load, and I will give you an approximation after our session. I personally retouch and edit every photograph I take - I do not outsource my editing work. Typically, for a mini or standard session, your proof gallery will be available within three to four weeks from your session date. For weddings, final image delivery will be completed in 10-12 weeks. I know waiting for your images is hard - I'll provide ample sneak peeks along the way!
